Founded in Brisbane in 2020 to help mine sites get more value from their environmental monitoring networks.
Our story
Built from years on mine sites
The Hydsight team has spent decades on and around mine sites: installing and operating gauging stations, and running real-time surface water, groundwater, dust and weather networks for mining companies in Australia and Papua New Guinea, alongside years of building production software.
Over that time one problem kept coming up: sites were collecting good data, but it was hard to get the right information to the right people in time. Hydsight was started in 2020 to fix that, by pairing reliable field monitoring with a portal designed around EA conditions and TARPs.
An open-cut coal mine was the portal's first user, and real mine-site requirements have shaped the platform ever since. Today we design, install and service monitoring stations, supply the telemetry, and run the Hydsight portal for mine sites.
